Coláiste Dún Iascaigh Girls Off To Lourdes

Coláiste Dún Iascaigh students Leah Brannigan, Shauna O’Dwyer, Lorraine Burke and Elina Jermakova have been chosen to to travel to Lourdes from June 6th to 11th this year. The students will travel as volunteer assistants on the Special Needs pilgrimage which runs annually. This is the fifteenth consecutive year that the Coláiste under the direction of co-ordinator Ms Aoife Morrissey under the auspices of Bishop Alphonsus Cullinane and the pastoral care centre in Waterford.

The students will experience working with adults and children who would have difficulty accessing the Holy Site without their help. They will see first-hand, the work of the pilgrimage team in this major Catholic Pilgrimage location.
They will visit many spiritual locations including the grotto of Massabielle where in 1858 Our Lady is said to have appeared.

This experience is always relished and described as ‘very special’. We are certain that the students will gain a lot of personal growth and invaluable experience on this worthy trip.
