Coláiste Dún Iascaigh Student Top Engineer
Colaiste Dun Iascaigh student George Forbes received the position of first in the country for his Leaving Certificate Engineering project from the Engineering and Technology Teacher’s Association recently. This award is given out annually to students who achieve among the highest marks in Leaving Certificate Engineering examination.  Two other students received certificates of distinction at the recent ETTA agm. Those students were Ryan Maher and Sylvestru Ungurean.
On receiving his award, Oisin thanked his Engineering teacher Mr. Martin Hurley for his guidance and expertise during his studies in the Colaiste. George also said that studying Engineering was deeply rewarding and allowed him to put his skills to work.
Mr Hurley reciprocated by praising George’s hard work and dedication which he was sure will see him go on to further success in his field of study.
Principal Mr. Peter Creedon remarked that the school was very proud of Georges’s award and observed that George was the second student in consecutive years to receive a national award at Leaving Certificate level in Engineering.
